Measuring for blinds is simple and straight forward. It’s important that you give us accurate measurements, so take a look at our handy step-by-step video guides and pdf instructions, which will help you to get it right.
The first thing you need is to decide whether your blind will fit to the inside or the outside of your window recess.
Once you have decided where your blind will fit, simply watch the relevant video.
Always try and use a metal tape measure, you will get a more accurate result
Have a paper and pen ready to write your measurements straight down
Look out for things like window handles or tiles. You’ll need to take their position into account to ensure a perfect fit!
Double check you are entering your measurements in mm, cm or inches
Recess measurements allow the blind to sit within the window
*If you select recess, we will deduct your measurement by 1cm – 1.5cm from the width and 1cm from the drop to ensure the perfect fit.
Use a metal tape measure to get accurate readings
Exact fitting means we will make no deductions to your measurements.
*We will manufacture the blind bracket to bracket size, this means your actual fabric size will be around 3cm less and 4cm less with cassette.

Recess measurements allow the blind to sit within the window.Measure the width (side wall to side wall) and drop (lintel to
windowsill) and we will make the appropriate deductions to
ensure a perfect fit.
Measure the exact width of the area you would like the blind to cover (we recommend the blind to overlap the outside of the window by at least 50-70mm on each side). The drop on the blind is a matter of personal choice, however please take into account obstacles such as radiators..
Roller blinds do not have headrails. Instead the Roller blind fabric is ‘rolled’ around a barrel of the same width, and control fittings are added to either end. We use the width measurement you provide us with to assemble the barrel and control fittings to the correct size. This means that the fabric of the blind will be narrower than the measurement you provide. Before you order your blind it is very important for you to check that the fabric will be wide enough to cover the glazed area of your window. This table tells you how much narrower your fabric will be than the top part (the barrel and control fittings) of your blind.
